Londinium: A
guided tour of the
Roman remains.
Please note that the 'Londinium' walk only runs
during the Autumn and Winter seasons. This walk
will recommence in November 2008.
A fascinating tour of London's Roman remains
which includes:
A 'secret' part of the Roman wall
A Roman villa floor in the undercroft of a city
church
The site of the first London Bridge
A 1st century timber from the Roman wharves,
which you can touch
The Temple of Mithras
The amazing Roman Amphitheatre, underneath
the Guildhall.
A second section of the Roman City wall.
There is no need to book- simply meet at 1.30pm
at the giant sundial above Tower Hill station
every Thursday.
Each walk costs £5 per person with proceeds
going to 'Cancer Research UK' and 'Oxfam'.
The 'Londinium' walk ends at around 3.30pm at
the Roman Amphitheatre underneath the
Guildhall (Free access to the Guildhall Art Gallery
and Roman amphitheatre is included in this
walk). Directions will then be given to the Bank
or Moorgate tube stations.
